Football at Belper Leisure Centre

Our FA Accredited 3G pitch can cater for a range of pitch sizes and training sessions.  The pitch can be book as:

  • Full size (11v11 or 9v9)

  • Half pitch (for training)

  • Third pitch (for training or matches 5v5/6v6)


We can also cater for indoor football in our main sports hall.

Football Development at Belper Leisure Centre

The Belper Leisure Centre Football Development Plan (FDP) continues to provide a fantastic development programme which is inclusive for all and in line with The FA’s Grassroots Football Strategy 2020-24 – “Survive. Revive. Thrive.”.   The Football Development Plan focuses on:

Belper Leisure Centre is committed to working alongside Derbyshire County FA, grassroots football clubs and other community organisations to provide a Football Development that is inclusive for all and can increase participation across a range of different formats (Youth, Adult, Female and Disability) of football. 

Walking Football

Walking Football is a great way to get back into the game for those who find a normal game too much. The rules are just the same as always with one exception - you can't run! A slower pace with less emphasis on physical ability means Walking Football is perfect for older and less able bodied participants. Come along and have a go!

Sundays 11:00 - 12:00 or  12:00 - 13:00 (depending on football fixtures)

Derby County Community Trust offer impairment specific sessions for individuals with certain disabilities.


DCCT currently offer these football session for players with Down’s Syndrome through the nationwide DS Active network, which provides the opportunities for players of all ages to take part in football with their families and play other teams from across the country.


DCCT also offer specific coaching for players with Cerebral Palsy which are ran in conjunction with our FA Talent Disability Hub where gifted younger players are invited to train.


Visually Impaired sessions also provide the chance for partially sighted players to take part in football activities. Again, skilled youngsters may be invited into our Talent Hub.


As part of the EFL Trust’s ‘Every Player Counts’ campaign, DCCT are committed to ensuring everyone can take part in sport regardless of any physical or mental disability.

Derby County Community Trust Football Holiday Camps

During the school holidays Derby County Community Trust run football coaching camps on site. The sessions are open to boys and girls from reception to year 6. They are designed by the FA qualified coaches to ensure all the children have a great time having lots of fun playing games and meeting new friends. The camps will be based on the 3G pitch or Sports Halls.
