Update 26/9/20

Latest government Covid-19 advice wearing of face masks

Dear customers

To come into effect from Monday 28th September 2020
All customers to wear a mask in communal area of the Centre.
You can remove your mask at the point of reaching your pre-booked activity area (gym/pool/workout class/activity hall/sports hall/3G pitch/courts)

Thank you for your cooperation

Update 10/9/20

Further to the Governments announcement and guidelines yesterday, please see below the update from Sport England:

While social gatherings of more than six people will be banned in England from 14 September, the government’s confirmed that organised sports and activities that have been through return to play protocols can continue, as can organised outdoor sports and physical activity events such as parkrun, which is due to return next month.

People can also continue to use leisure facilities, including gyms and pools - classes within these venues can continue as they are now. People should not go to these venues socially in groups of more than six.

That's because these sports and activities have stringent plans in place to reduce the risk of Covid-19, and because these venues are classed as Covid-secure given the measures they’ve introduced.

Kind regards

BLC

update 5th August 2020

Dear customers

We have had a fantastic first week, thank you for all your support and encouraging words, it’s great to hear how much you have enjoyed being back with us and your appreciation for the measures we have put in place.

As promised from day one we will continue to review our facility operations and timetables regularly. We are excited to develop and grow our programme/s as the weeks go on!

Please check our Website and social media regularly, for the most up do date information.

Further to our continued review of the Covid-19 situation we are happy to say that the air conditioning is now in use (from 1.30pm 4th August). Dry-side racket activities are the next on our list, booking and guidelines for these will be available on Tuesday 11th August.

We are working in conjunction with individual clubs and ongoing reviews from Governing Bodies to bring as many facilities back to the Centre as quickly and as safely as possible. Please note that some of these will require a slightly different participant response but we will provide the proposed (Governing Body) actions required. It might be different, but it is a start!

Kind regards

BLC Team

Updated 24/07/20

Dear Customer

Firstly I apologise that we will not be able to open the entire building from WC 3rd August as initially thought! Indoor dry-side facilities have still not received government advice regarding safe operation! The Sauna, Spa and Steam Room will also remain closed for social distancing reasons until further notice.

However, we are opening all other leisure facilities and the following information offers guidelines to Palms Members regarding the ‘Customer Guidelines for the Reactivation of Palms Health and Fitness Memberships’ and ‘Reopening Guidelines for Palms Health and Fitness’.

We will be issuing further information next week in relation to the 3G Pitch – which will open WC 3rd August.

The Splash Academy Swimming Programme – will reopen in conjunction with ‘Swim England guidelines’ and operational requirements during September!

Whilst we hope that most questions have been answered by the guidelines, we do understand that the dry-side clubs and casual indoor dry-side activities remain without guidance! We do anticipate that this will be rectified quickly during August with UK Government advice for safe operations.

Therefore dry-side clubs, racket sports and other indoor dry-side activities will remain closed until further notice pending further UK Government advice.

We look forward to seeing you back soon.
